Not much is known about our patron saint. His name, Christopher, means to carry Christ. The story is that Christopher was a very large and strong man whose ministry was to carry travelers across a dangerous ford in a river. One day a child arrived at the bank of the river. Christopher hoisted him onto his shoulder. The boy was small and Christopher had crossed the river many times but this time was different. The child's weight made it difficult for Christopher to put one foot in front of the other or to maintain his balance against the strength of the current. He was carrying Christ who carries the weight of the world.
At St. Christopher’s at the Crossroad Episcopal Church, our mission is to carry Christ. We believe that fidelity to that mission finds expression in a community of spiritual formation, ministry and lots of laughter. Whether you are on a spiritual journey or just traveling along the Interstate, you are most welcome here.
